Nick Mike-Mayer

Nick Mike-Mayer set numerous records while starring for the Temple football team. He led the Owls in scoring during the 1970, 1971, and 1972 seasons while establishing himself as one of the premier placekickers in collegiate ranks. He had a career total of 156 points, scoring 44 points in 1970, 62 in 1971 and 50 in 1972. He played in the Blue-Grey game and set kicking records in the Senior Bowl. During the 1973-1977 seasons, he starred for the Atlanta Falcons and earned a spot in the Pro Bowl his rookie year. He scored 112 points that season, making 34 straight extra points and 26 of 28 field goal attempts. He was with the Eagles for part of 1977 and 1978. He joined Buffalo Bills in 1979 and was with the team until 1983. He was the Bills’ scoring leader in 1979 with 77 points. He is now with the San Antonio Gunslingers of the United States Football League. He was picked by the Gunslingers coaching staff as the team’s most valuable offensive player last year. He made good on 20 of 27 field goal tries and 33 of 35 extra points in 1984.
