Ollie Johnson

The 15th highest scorer in Temple basketball history at the time, Ollie Johnson finished his career with 1,063 points. He had an outstanding collegiate career even though he did not play basketball while attending Philadelphia's Southern High School. He averaged 16.9 points a game as a senior at Temple, leading the Owls into the 1972 NCAA Tournament. He was named to the All-Big 5 Team after the 1971-72 season and was twice named the team's most valuable player. He led the Temple quintet in scoring and rebounding as a junior and senior. Following his graduation from Temple, he was a second-round draft choice of the NBA's Portland Trail Blazers. He played with New Orleans, Kansas City, Atlanta, Chicago and Philadelphia in the NBA. His best season was 1975-76 when he averaged 10.1 points a game for Kansas City.Â
