An outstanding soccer player at Temple University from 1926 to 1929, Ralph Rosner later became an internationally-known referee. He starred for the Owls and was team captain in 1928. Ralph played first division soccer in the Philadelphia League until 1932. He joined the Eastern Pennsylvania and District Soccer referees Association in 1933 and was president of that group from 1956 to 1958. While stationed in Africa and Italy with the United States Army, he refereed British Army and Navy league games in the Naples area in 1944 and 1945. He was selected to referee international matches over top English officials. Ralph has officiated many scholastic, collegiate, amateur and professional games. He played varsity soccer at Frankford High School and was an all-Scholastic halfback in 1925. He was the first President of the Temple Soccer Alumni Club in 1950.
