Walt Chyzowych

Walt Chyzowych was the holder of Temple one season record for scoring with 25 goals in 1959 when he won All-American honors. He was also an outstanding professional soccer player and played three years of varsity soccer at Temple. He also competed in baseball in 1958 and 1959 besides helping the football team for one season as a place kicker. He starred in American Professional Soccer League for 10 years. He made the all-star team nine times and was named the league's Most Valuable Player in 1966. He led the American League in scoring three years. He was a member of the United States National Team in 1965 and 1966 and played in World Cup Games in Mexico, Honduras, Bermuda and England. He also played pro soccer with Philadelphia Spartans in North American Soccer League and was a successful pro and college coach.
