Wayne Boyd

The only NCAA champion in Temple wrestling history at his time, Wayne Boyd was undefeated in dual meet competition. Compiled a brilliant 33-0-1 record and three times was selected Temple's outstanding wrestler. To climax an outstanding senior season, he captured the NCAA 1968-69 Championship at 123 pounds plus the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association Crown. Boyd won three Middle Atlantic Conference Championships in addition to his NCAA and EIWA Titles. He was named the outstanding wrestler in America at the 1969 National Coaches Clinic. He came to Temple from Norview High School in Norfolk, Va. where he was three times Virginia State Champion. He is president of WEB Productions, Television Commercial and Film Company. Wayne has remained active in wrestling and founded the East Coast Wrestling and Health Club.
