PHILADELPHIA (July 28, 1999) -- Temple gymnast Mike Moran (Loomis Chaffee/Windsor, CT) helped the U.S. capture the silver medal in the men's team competition at the Pan American Games in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on July 24, 1999. Moran, a senior three-time All-American, scored a team-high 9.00 on the horizontal bar and was second on the rings with a 9.10. He also landed his highest score, 9.175, on the vault with a 8.95 on the floor exercise, and a 8.50 on the parallel bars. Moran is the third Temple gymnast to compete on the Pan-American team. Dominick Minicucci (1991-92) made the squad in 1991 and Bill Roth (1988-92) was selected in 1995. Kenny Sykes (1993), who competed at the qualifying meet with Moran, just missed qualifying.
