Yamit Haba Nets Second Atlantic 10 Volleyball Rookie of the Week Honor

Philadelphia - For the second time this season, freshman outside hitter Yamit Haba has been named Rookie of the Week for the Atlantic 10 conference. In fact, good things seem to come in twos for Haba. This is her second such award, it comes in a week where the Owls posted two conference victories and she recorded back to back double-doubles.
Haba, who was first named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week on September 25, registered 14 kills, 19 digs and threw in three service aces in Temple's three games to none win over La Salle last week. She followed up that performance with 15 kills and 12 digs in the Owls' sweep of the Fordham Rams.
With Haba and the rest of the Owls raising their level of play, Temple has remained undefeated in conference play despite losing All-America candidate Alma Kovaci for the last three matches. Kovaci is slated to return to the lineup as the Owls hit the road to face Massachusetts (Friday, October 13) and Rhode Island (Saturday, October 14).
