Thirteenth-Ranked Gymnastics Places 2nd in Tri-Meet of Nationally Ranked Teams

PHILADELPHIA (Feb. 17) - Temple men's gymnastic team placed 2nd with a season high team score of 202.900. The Owls finished ahead of 16th-ranked William & Mary (200.300) and behind (reigning National Champions) 9th ranked Penn State (204.650) in a home meet on Saturday in McGonigle Hall. The Owls' record is now an impressive 9-3.

Temple was led by outstanding performances from sophomores Alex Weber and Rich Maguire. Weber finished with three first place finishes and one second. Weber ranked 8th nationally in the all around placed first in the all around (51.75), on the pommel horse (9.00), floor exercise (8.90), and earned a second place on the parallel bars with a (8.40). Maguire, ranked 11th nationally in the all around grabbed second in the all around competition and placed first on the vault with a score of 9.20.

The 13th-ranked Owls (9-3) will visit Massachusetts on Friday, February 23rd at 8pm.
