Owls Place 12th In NCAA's Qualifiers, Maguire and Weber Advance In Individuals

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple men's gymnastics team placed 12th in the NCAA

team Qualifiers in Columbus Ohio ending their season. The Owls scored an

overall team score of 203.40. Temple, the ECAC's runner-ups, finished

the regular season with a record of 12-7 and ranked 12th nationally.

The first three teams advanced from each session, Oklahoma (218.300), California (214.550) and defending champion Penn State (213.625) advanced from session I. Ohio State (217.075), Michigan (216.850) and Michigan State (213.350) advanced from session II.

Sophomores Rich Maguire and Alex Weber led the Owls. Maguire advanced to the next round of the NCAA in the floor exercise tying for third place (9.30) and Weber placed 6th in the all around (51.750). The all around and team finals will be held on Friday. The events finals will be held on Saturday.
