In a season marked by injury to three senior athletes, veteran head coach Fred Turoff celebrated his 25th year at the Owl helm by guiding his team to an 11-7 dual-match record ... The Owls finished a close second to defending champion Massachusetts at the ECAC Championships, a competition attended by 11 teams ... At that competition, Temple finished just .85 of a point off the championship total, falling to UMass 207.200-208.050 ... The performance enabled the Owls to advance as a team to the NCAA qualifier for the first time since 1986 ... At the NCAAs, the Owls scored 203.400 to finish 12th ... In the ECAC Meet, sophomores Richie Maguire and Alex Weber finished one-two in the all-around, separated by only .10 ... Both Maguire and Weber advanced to the finals in all four events and earned medals in each ... Senior Rob Chacon capped his career with a second-place finish on horizontal bar ... Junior Brian Munn and sophomores Theo Maes and Travis Plummer also qualified for event finals at the ECAC's ... Weber and Maguire were both named ECAC Athlete of the Week during the season.
