VOLLEYBALL DOWNS DUQUESNE 3-1 TO REMAIN UNBEATEN IN CONFERENCE PLAY

Pittsburgh, Pa. - The Temple volleyball team (12-5, 4-0) defeated host Duquesne (10-8, 0-3) 3-1 on October 4 at the Palumbo Center to remain undefeated in Atlantic 10 play. The game scores were 27-30, 30-24, 30-27 and 30-18 in the four-game match.
Junior outside hitter Xu Yun, the reigning Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, led the Owls with 16 kills and 13 digs. Fellow junior Liu Shu also had 16 kills and added 11 digs, while juniors Charity Hill (14 kills) and Yamit Haba (13 kills, nine digs) reinforced the Temple attack. Sophomore setter Alison Runk dished out a game-high 60 assists for the Owls
Duquesne was led by Jacqui Gerlach with 12 kills while Diana Wuebker, Sarah Morrow and Ashley
Macko each added 11 kills. Macko also had a game-high 16 digs.
The Owls continue their current road trip with a visit to George Washington on Saturday, October 5. Match time is 5:00 p.m.
