MATT MAHER NAMED A-10 MEN'S SOCCER ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

PHILADELPHIA - Temple University freshman forward Matt Maher was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week for the week ending October 19. Maher scored the game-winning goal in the ninth minute of the Owls' 1-0 upset of No. 22 Duquesne on Oct. 19.

Maher, a native of Green Creek, NJ (Middle Township High), has been one of the main offensive players in Temple's superb season. His three goals and two assists have helped the Owls to a 9-2-2 overall record and first place in the Atlantic 10 with a 5-0-1 mark.

Temple next plays Richmond, the A-10's only other unbeaten team (6-4-4, 3-0-3 in A-10) on Friday afternoon, October 24 (3:00 p.m.). The Owls then take the Temple Stadium field for the final time in a varsity match when they host George Washington on Sunday, October 26 at 1:00 p.m.
