TEMPLE'S MICHAEL AST NAMED 2003 COLLEGE GYMNASTICS ASSOCIATION ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICAN

8.5.03 | Men's Gymnastics

Senior Michael Ast (Staten Island, N.Y./Tottenville) was selected as an Academic All-American by the College Gymnastics Association. Ast was one of 48 individuals named to the team.

To be eligible a gymnast must have at least a 3.50 grade point average in addition to earning a minimum NCAA gymnastics score of 8.0 during the 2002-2003 academic year.

The Owls, as a team ranked 14th overall in the 2003 National Academic Team final rankings.Temple finished with an overall record of 9-6 and won their second straight ECAC title and earned a bid to the NCAA Championships.
