RAMOS LEADS MEN'S GYMNASTICS TO FOURTH PLACE FINISH AT THE WEST POINT OPEN

Junior David Ramos led the Owl effort by placing in the top eight on high bar, parallel bars, floor and in the all-around. Ramos placed second overall in the all-around competition (52.750) and tied for second on floor (9.150) and high bar (9.300). His all-around and floor exercise scores set a new career-high mark for Ramos. Ramos also placed seventh on parallel bars with a score of 8.550.
Seniors Kevin Hallinan, Zach Hanson-Hart, Theo Maes, and Toros Torcomian will all join Ramos in the final round of individual competition tomorrow. Hallinan tied for eighth place on pommel horse (8.700), while Torcomian finished fifth on rings (9.40). Both Maes and Hanson-Hart will compete in the vault finals. Maes placed fourth with a 9.500 score and Hanson-Hart finished seventh with a 9.300 score. Maes will also compete in the floor exercise as he placed fifth in the preliminary round with a score of 9.050.
Penn State dominated the meet by collecting first-place finishes on every piece of apparatus. Kevin Donohue paced Penn State as he placed first on high bar, parallel bars, vault and in the all-around. Penn State's ring specialist Kevin Tan, ranked number one nationally, topped the competition with a first-place finish in the event.
The West Point Open features over 800 gymnasts on nine collegiate and 75 club teams. Eight of the ten collegiate teams entered the meet ranked in the top 18 nationally. Prior to the meet, the Temple men's gymnastics team owned an eighth place rank.
