EN ROUTE TO ECAC CHAMPIONSHIPS MEN'S GYMNASTICS TEAM WINS FINAL REGULAR SEASON MEET

ANNAPOLIS, MD -- One week before the ECAC Championship meet, the defending champion Temple men's gymnastics team finished the regular season with victories against Navy and Southern Connecticut State in a tri-meet on March 13. The Owls won on every piece of apparatus, except one, as they won the meet with a 208.00 team score. Host Navy placed second with a 207.25, while Southern Connecticut State took third with a 187.20.
Senior Kevin Hallinan scored big for the Owls, finishing first in the all-around with a 51.40 score. Hallinan placed second on high bar (8.5) and third on floor exercise (8.90) and pommel horse (8.75).
On floor exercise Temple took the top three spots. In front of Hallinan junior David Ramos won the event with a 9.20 and senior Zach Hanson-Hart followed to place second with a 9.0 personal best score.
Temple also swept on parallel bars as Theo Maes (8.75), Adam Courtney (8.65), and Ramos (8.55) took first, second, and third, respectively. Both Maes's and Courtney's score marked a career-best.
Senior Nyika White won on still rings with a 9.65 score. With a 9.50 score in the event senior Toros Torcomian tied Southern Connecticut's Curtis Haines for second place.
On vault senior John Berhle took first with a career-high 9.30 score and White placed third (9.20) to lead the Owls in the event.
Hanson-Hart won on high bar with a personal best 8.60 score. Hallinan followed to place second.
The Owls travel to Chicago next weekend, where they will defend their title at the ECAC Championship meet. The preliminary round takes place on Saturday, March 20 at 3:00 p.m. and the finals will be held on Sunday, March 21 at 3:00 p.m.
