NYIKA WHITE PLACES FIRST AMONG COLLEGIATE ENTRIES ON RINGS AT WEST POINT OPEN

WEST POINT, NY - Two-time All-American Nyika White placed first among collegiate entries on rings in the event finals of the West Point Open Saturday night at Christl Arena. The senior scored a 9.800 to finish behind Penn State Alumni competitor Kevin Tan (9.825).

 

Fellow upperclassman David Ramos also advanced to event finals after Friday evening's team competition. Ramos finished eighth on parallel bars with a 7.350 effort Saturday night.

 

No.11-ranked Temple (6-5) finished fifth with a 205.825 score Friday evening during the team competition. The Owls placed behind No. 5 Penn State (217.750), No. 6 Iowa (216.375), No. 12 Nebraska (210.800) and the No. 10 Black Knights (209.450).

 

The Cherry & White return to action at the Winter Cup Challenge in Las Vegas, Nev. on Friday, February 4.
