WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY COMPETES AT MONMOUTH INVITATIONAL

HOLMDEL, NJ - Freshman Angela Washko led the way for Temple for the second straight meet as the Owls finished third at the Monmouth Invitational, held at Holmdel Park on Saturday. Washko traversed the 5K course in 21:10 to place sixth out of 54 runners. Sophomore Mary Claire Curran placed second for the Owls and tenth overall in a time of 21:37.
Sophomore Shanice DePass (20th, 22:34), junior Jennette von Bargen (24th, 22:55), and freshman Rachel Angstadt (40th, 24:56) rounded out the top five for the Cherry and White.
Monmouth's Katrina Alexander bested the field in a time of 19:16 to claim her second straight individual honor at Holmdel, while leading the Hawks to their second consecutive team title, and third in the last four years.
TU returns to action next weekend at the Delaware Invitational, its last meet before the Atlantic 10 Championship on October 29 at Philadelphia's Belmont Plateau.
