PHILADELPHIA - Temple freshman gymnast Luke Vexler has been named the ECAC gymnast of the week for his performance at the Springfield College meet on February 20th. Vexler won the all around with a total score of 51.625 while winning the floor exercise with a 9.0, along with pommel at 8.9.
In addition to his stellar performance on floor and pommel, he also placed 2nd in both the vault and horizontal bar. By wining the all-around, he finished ahead of four other competitors, including teammate David Ramos, who won two events at the 2004 ECAC Championships.
The Temple men's gymnastics team defeated host Springfield College 204.100-199.250 in the dual meet last Sunday. You can see your Owls in action again Saturday, February 26th at McGonigle Hall. This tri-meet begins at 7:30pm and includes the Japan Collegiate All Stars and The Illinois Fighting Illini.
