PHILADELPHIA - Scott Walcoff, the Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the Liacouras Center since 2001, has been named Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Promotions at Temple University. He had served as the University's Director of Athletic Marketing on an interim basis since August 2004.
"We are very excited to have Scott Walcoff join the Temple athletic family on a full-time basis," stated Temple Director of Athletics Bill Bradshaw. "Scott already has a strong relationship with Temple athletics stemming from his role with the Liacouras Center, and a working knowledge of the Philadelphia market. This will help make his transition an easy one."
A 1997 graduate of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, Walcoff was responsible for the marketing and public relations of all events at the Liacouras Center including concerts and family shows. In his role with the Liacouras Center, he coordinated media buys, placed print advertisements, negotiated radio/television promotional support and created community initiatives to increase ticket sales.
Prior to his four years with the Liacouras Center, Walcoff served a year as a marketing coordinator for Comcast-Spectacor (2000-01), where he was responsible for marketing plans for family show events. He also served as a promotions coordinator with Ticketmaster as well as a writer/editor for both the Media Theatre for the Performing Arts and The Sports Network.
Born and raised in Havertown, Pa., Walcoff resides in Lafayette Hill, Pa., with his wife, Robyn.
