VEXLER WINS FLOOR EXERCISE, VOGTMAN NAMED CO-ROOKIE OF THE YEAR AT ECAC CHAMPIONSHIPS

ANNAPOLIS, MD -- Temple sophomore Luke Vexler won the floor exercise title with a 9.325 score and freshman John Vogtman was cited as the Conference's Co-Rookie of the Year Sunday afternoon during event finals of the 2006 ECAC Men's Gymnastics at Macdonough Hall. Vogtman placed second on parallel bars (8.600) and third on pommel horse (8.600) to become the second Owl in as many years to capture the league's top newcomer honor, following Vexler last season.
In Sunday's event finals, Kramer finished ninth on pommel horse (7.700), sixth on vault (8.850) and ninth on parallel bars (8.00). Junior Clay Stewart placed third in the floor exercise (9.250), junior Dan Berlin earned fourth on pommel horse (8.550), senior Brian Forquer finished sixth on still rings (8.700) and sophomore Alex Gorski placed eighth on vault (8.550).
Vexler entered the Championships ranked tied for 11th nationally on floor exercise with a 9.183 scoring average. Kramer was the nation's 20th-ranked all-arounder with a 47.383 scoring average.
