McKenzie Paces Women's Cross Country At Fordham

BRONX, NY - Senior Noelle McKenzie led the Temple women's cross country team for the second straight race, finishing 89th out of 233 runners, to carry the Owls to a 14th place showing at the Fordham Invitational on Saturday. She travered the 5k course in 21:33, 10 seconds ahead of freshman Rebecca Mims, who was 94th in a time of 21:43.
Freshman Paige Layng finished 104th (21:55), classmate Jen Berman (125th, 22:30) and senior Cari Ann Gerbino (130th, 22:40) rounded out the top five for Temple.
Princeton dominated the team event with 20 points, finishing ahead of Penn (85) and DePaul (118). The Tigers had six of the top seven finishers, with the individual title going to DePaul's Claire Duck (18:38.52).
The Owls are back in action on Saturday at the Delaware Invitational.
