Former Temple Gymnast Vexler to Perform in 2008 Tour of Gymnastic Superstrars

PHILADELPHIA - Former Temple gymnast Luke Vexler, a finalist for the Nissan-Emery Award this past season, will be competing with the U.S. Men's National Team throughout the 2008 Tour of Gymnastic Superstars, which will perform at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia on Thursday, October 23rd.
Vexler will be performing with the likes of 2004 All-Around Gold medalist Paul Hamm, 2008 High Bar silver medalist Jonathan Horton and the rest of the 2008 bronze medal winning US Men's National team. The Tour will also include performances by Olympic Gold Medalists Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson of US Women's National Team. The tour started September 7th and will conclude on November 16th. The dance sets have a mix of hip hop and contemporary dance with gymnastic elements.
As a member of the Cherry and White, Vexler played was an integral part in helping the Owls capture back-to-back ECAC championships in 2007 and 2008. The 2008 ECAC Senior of the Year, Vexler captured gold in the all-around and floor exercise at the ECAC Championships this past April.
The Temple men's gymnastics team will open up the 2009 season at West Point Open on Friday, January 16th.
