Temple Finishes 13th At A-10 Championship

CHARLOTTE, NC - Sophomore Rebecca Mims led Temple to a 13th place finish at the Atlantic 10 Championship at the Charlotte Campus Course on Saturday morning. Mims covered the 5k course in a time of 19:57 to place 78th. This is the second consectuive season that Mims was the Owls' top finisher at the A-10s.
Sophomore Jen Berman finished 110th in a time of 20:51, while senior Cari Anne Gerbino was 11th th in 20:53.
Sophomore Brianna Linneman (21:04.7, 116th) and senior Amanda Mitnitsky (21:26.0, 124th) rounded out the top five finishers for the Owls.
Richmond claimed the team title with 48 points and Charlotte sophomore Amanda Goetschius took home the individual crown.
Charlotte was the runner-up in the women's race with 68 points while Dayton took home a third place finish with 103 points and was led by sophomore Maura Bulgrin, who finished in 10th.
In fourth place were the Xavier Musketeers with 108 points while Duquesne rounded out the top five with 151 points. The top Musketeer performance came from senior Becky Clark who crossed the line in seventh place and the top finish from the Dukes came from freshman Hannah Ringo in 12th place.
The rest of the field included Saint Louis, Massachusetts, Saint Joseph's, George Washington, Fordham, La Salle, Rhode Island, the Owls and Saint Bonaventure.
The Owls return to action in two weeks at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional.
