Temple Head Coach Al Golden
"We dropped a touchdown, fumbled the football, missed an extra point, fumbled on the 10-yard line in the second quarter - that's the difference in the game. We had a chance to score in overtime and we didn't. We should have gotten in on the screen. We're still not strong enough up front to get it in when it's only a half yard out. I don't think we ran particularly hard on that play. The fourth down play we should have scored on. We gave the kids an opportunity to win. Eventually these games are going to turn."
"That's four games. In 21 years of college football, I don't think I have ever been in involved in anything like this...to lose four games like that. It's heart breaking, but we'll get them back.
"Right now where we are in our program, I am excited about the way they competed. No matter who or where they are playing. I think they are starting to enjoy the fight. I really do. When you start from where we started, in such a depressed state where we started two years ago, I am pleased with the fact that they have gotten to the point where they have a chance and opportunity to win every game they are in.
"The majority of the time we executed our plan today. They played their butts off. We need a couple more guys to step up and make a play. We need to hold onto the football better and we need to execute a little bit better. We will get there."
On whether he is second-guessing his strategy used on the final drive of the fourth quarter:
"Certainly we could have kneeled down, but you give it to a running back, tell him to put two hands on it and that's what running backs do - carry the ball. I told him to go down if he gets held up, put two hands on it, and don't go out of bounds. I don't question that decision. I think you have to give it to your running backs. That's what running backs do. We thought that would have taken the clock down to 18 or 19 seconds and then you punt it away.
