Men's Gymnastics Earns Three Gold Medals at ECAC Championships

WEST POINT, N.Y. - Just one day after capturing the ECAC team championship, the Temple men's gymnastics team earned three gold medals at the ECAC Championships on Saturday evening from West Point to cap off the outstanding weekend.
After capturing the all-around crown the previous day, senior Luke Vexler added another gold medal as he tied teammate sophomore Patrick McLaughlin to finish first in the floor event (15.000). Vexler while as also honored as the ECAC Senior of the Year. The gold medals highlighted an all-around great day for both Vexler and McLaughlin. Velxer also placed fourth on vault (15.300), rings (14.300) and high bars (13.800) while McLaughlin (15.700) also took home the silver on the vault.
Sophomore Scott Bloomfield took home the gold medal on vault (16.125) to capture the first ECAC medal of his career. Senior Sterling Kramer also placed fourth on the parallel bars (14.550) and sixth on the high bar (13.200). Seniors Andrew Corp and Alex Gorski also competed in event finals but did not place.
Also honored at the championships was legendary head coach Fred Turoff, who was named ECAC Coach of the Year after guiding the Owls to the ECAC crown for the 16th time.
The Cherry and White are back in action on Friday, April 17th when they head to Palo Alto, Calif. for the NCAA Qualifier.
