Men's Gymnast Corp Awarded Prestigious Scholarship

PHILADELPHIA - Andrew Corp, a graduating senior on the Temple men's gymnastics team, has been awarded a prestigious scholarship under the Science, Mathematics and Research Program (SMART Program), which is managed by the Naval Postgraduate School on behalf of the Secretary of Defense.
The Department of Defense offers this scholarship for service to individuals who demonstrate outstanding ability and special aptitude for a career in scientific and engineering research and product development, express interest in career opportunities at Department of Defense laboratories and, are pursuing a degree in the field of mathematics or science.
Corp, chosen for the scholarship from a competitive field of over 2,000 applicants, was selected by the Air Force Flight Test Center at Edwards Air Force Base in Edwards, California. Corp will begin his training at Edwards Air Force Base starting in late July and will receive a monthly stipend as part of the scholarship.
Corp was a key member of the men's gymnastics team that captured its second consecutive ECAC championship in April. During the season, Corp posted season highs of 13.95 in the floor exercise, 14.60 on the parallel bars, and 14.45 on the high bar.
