Temple Volleyball Wins Second Straight With 3-1 Victory Over Maine

PHILADELPHIA-Ashley Carr posted her first career double-double and Yun Yi Zhang posted a match-high 22 kills to help lead the Temple volleyball team to a 3-1 (23-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-18) victory over Maine on Friday night. Carr had 10 kills and 14 digs as Temple improved to 5-5 on the season.
Caitlin Loudon had 12 digs, while defensive specialist Ariel Pierre posted 18. Jackie Morrison dished 41 assists.
Despite a higher hitting percentage, the Owls dropped a close first set, 25-23. They rebounded to win the next three sets with spectacular defense and allowing the Black Bears to post just a .092 hitting percentage.
Temple is back in action tomorrow against Cornell at 10 a.m. and UConn at 7:30 p.m.
