FLOURTOWN, PA - Temple's Eric Plisko finished tied for fourth at the Philadelphia Big 5 Invitational, but the defending champion Temple Owls struggled to place tied for 13th in the two-day event held at the Philadelphia Cricket Club. Campbell's Zak Drescher (67-73) led the field of 90 golfers with a two-under 140 and helped his team to the 2009 championship.

Campbell (297-290, 587) shot a six-over par 290 on Sunday, the best round by any of the 17 teams, to overtake first-round leader Richmond (293-298, 591). Yale, tied with Campbell in second after play on Saturday, placed third (297-297, 594) with Penn (309-291, 600) and Binghamton (306-294, 600), rounding out the top five.

"Eric is playing really well for us right now," Temple head coach Brian Quinn said. "Unfortunately my players are struggling right now. We had a solid first day, and with a couple of breaks today, our result would have been much better."

Plisko, who has led the Owls the entire 2000-10 campaign, shot a three-over par 145 (70-75) to finish five strokes off the lead. He was followed by junior Andrew Mason (76-79, 155) who tied for 46th. Junior Joseph Kim tied for 59th with a 157 (78-79) while redshirt freshman Devin Bibeau (80-80, 160) and junior Mark Edmondson (81-79, 169) tied for 68th.

The Owls complete the fall portion of their schedule at the Old Dominion Seascape Invitational on October 26-27.
