Sophomore tallies eventual game-winner just after halftime
PHILADELPHIA - Closing out their season against rival Saint Joseph's, the Temple women's soccer team (7-11-1, 3-8-0 A-10) was fueled by an unassisted goal from Tiia Kuokka just after halftime, giving them a 1-0 lead in their final game of the year.
Kuokka hit an arching shot from 12-yards out in the 56th minute, finding a space in the upper right corner. Steady rain and wind for the duration of the match made for slow play at Finnessey Field.
Freshman keeper Gillian Kacsuta made the start in goal for the Cherry and White, making five saves to wrap a solid freshman debut. Even being outshot 11-4 on the game, the Owls managed to capitalize on their chance and keep the Hawks off of the scoreboard.
The Cherry and White finish the season with a 7-11-1, 3-8-0 in A-10 play record, winning their last two contests.
