Owls Arrive in Washington, D.C.

Washington, D.C.-- The Temple University football team arrived in the nation's capital on Thursday to begin preparations for its first bowl game appearance in 30 years.
The Owls (9-3, 7-1 MAC) face UCLA (6-6, 3-5 Pac-10) in the 2009 EagleBank Bowl at RFK Stadium on Tuesday, Dec. 29 at 4:30 p.m. ESPN will televise the game.
The Temple team left Edberg-Olson Hall, its home complex, bright and early for the two-and-half-hour bus ride towards Washington, D.C.
The Owls stopped for their first practice session at Good Counsel High School in Olney, Md.
The players and coaches were then greeted by family, friends, and fans at their hotel-- the DC Renaissance. All attended a welcome reception by the bowl.
The players enjoyed a free evening with family and friends.
