McLaughlin Named ECAC Men's Gymnast Of The Week

Owls senior won the all-around in season opener
CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Announced by the Eastern College Athletic Conference today, Temple men's gymnast senior Patrick McLaughlin was named ECAC Men's Gymnast of the Week.
McLaughlin won the all-around competition (85.95) at the 2010 West Point Open, becoming just the sixth Temple gymnast to win the all-around in the 19-year history of the event, and the first since Luke Vexler in 2006.
Temple (338.70) placed second to Penn State (349.85) and ahead of third place Springfield College (329.00).
In winning the all-around, the Shrewsbury, Pa. native (Rebounders), qualified for every event in the individual event finals on Saturday earning three medals (floor exercise, vault, parallel bars).
The Temple men's gymnastics team is back in action this weekend at the Navy Open. Action is slated to begin at 2:00 p.m. on January 23.
