Owls honor 10 seniors prior to the 1:00 p.m. start on Sunday
PHILADELPHIA - Regular season play concludes this weekend for the Temple women's soccer team as the Owls host Atlantic 10 foes Saint Louis on Friday, October 29 and Charlotte on October 31 at Ambler Sports Complex. On Sunday, the Owls will honor their 10 seniors before the start of the match.
Donning the cherry and white for the final time this weekend are Julia Adden, Brianna Costello, Meridith Crowell, Kelly Diviny, Stephanie Ferretti, Katy Gray, Stephanie Kwiatkowski, Liz Roper, Sara Scheid and Kara Williams. Impressively, nine out of the 10 seniors on the 2010 squad have been members of the program for four years.
The Owls (6-10-1, 1-5-1) ended a four-game losing skid when they topped Rhode Island last Sunday for their first conference win of the year. Two goals from junior Niki Conn were enough to give Temple a 2-1 win. Conn's performance gave her 10 goals on the year, becoming the first Owl since Brandi Wright in 2001 to tally double-digit goals in a single-season.
Saint Louis (3-9-5, 2-5-0) is 2-3 in its last five contests. The Billikens battled Charlotte last weekend, losing the match 1-0. Charlotte ranks second in the Atlantic 10 with a record of 6-1-0 in conference play. The 49ers only A-10 loss came at the hands of St. Bonaventure.
Action begins Friday October 29 at 3:00 p.m. when the Owls and the Billikens square off on the pitch at Ambler. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. on Sunday with senior recognition occuring just prior to the start.
