Box Score

CHARLOTTE, N.C.
- The third-seeded Temple men's soccer team's trip to the Atlantic 10 Tournament ended sooner than the Owls had hoped, as an early first half goal propelled sixth-seed Xavier to a 1-0 win Thursday night at TransAmerica Field.  Temple finishes the season with an 8-9-2 overall record, while the Musketeers advance and move to 9-6-3.

Xavier struck in the 12th minute, as El-Hadji Diend sent a long pass into the box that rolled to the feet of Luke Spencer.  Spencer gathered the ball and blasted a close range shot to the center of the net for the only goal of the evening.

The Owls' offense attempted find its rhythm in the first, managing four shots on goal and outshooting Xavier 8-6.  The second half would show no improvements for the Owls, however, being outshot 10-4 with only one shot on goal.

On the game, junior Tyler Witmer led the Owls with four shots and freshman Ryan Bradbury had three tries.

In net, redshirt-senior keeper Bret Mollon made four saves in the final match of his career. On the flip side, Xavier's Justin Marshall made five saves before leaving the game in the 85th minute, being replaced by Andre Bezerra.

The Owls finish the 2010 season with an 8-9-2 record, posting a 6-4-0 record in conference play.
