Men’s Tennis Players Compete at Lakewood Ranch Intercollegiate Clay Court Classic

Rams, Rams and Mauro to play in clay court tournament
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Juniors Filip Rams and Kurt Mauro, and sophomore Kacper Rams will be representing the Temple men's tennis team at the Lakewood Ranch Intercollegiate Clay Court Classic, held in Bradenton, Florida on Friday, November 12-Sunday, November 14, 2010. The tournament is the only college clay court event in the country.
Filip and Kacper Rams will each compete in singles play, while teaming up to play the doubles draw. Mauro will represent the Owls in singles play only.
In addition to Temple, the tournament boasts some of the top teams in the country such as Ohio State (5), University of Florida (8), Pepperdine (21) and Oklahoma State (47).
“This will be a great test for Temple tennis to play against the best college players in the NCAA,” said TU tennis coach Steve Mauro. “We feel honored to have been invited to such an event. We look forward to the challenge and want to show the country that Temple's tennis program is on the rise.”
This event is the final of the fall season for the Owls men's tennis team. The squad will begin play in the spring championship season at the VCU Invite on January 29-30, 2011.
