Owls return home for season finale vs. Fordham on Sunday

PHILADELPHIA – Xavier's Chelsea Campbell tallied 14 kills and zero errors in leading her team to a 3-0 win against Temple volleyball on Friday afternoon. The Musketeers (18-8, 11-3) won by scores of 25-17, 25-19 and 25-20.
The Owls (4-24, 1-13) got a match-high 17 digs from Ariel Pierre and seven kills apiece from Elyse Burkert and Ashley Carr. Jess Antosz tallied six kills and zero errors for Temple.
Xavier knocked down 15 kills as a team compared to nine for Temple in the first set. The Owls led by three points at 14-11, but after tying the score at 16-16, the Musketeers had all the momentum the rest of the way.
Temple fell into an early 7-2 hole in the second set, and despite hanging with Xavier the rest of the way the Owls were unable to catch up.
The third set was the closest of the three with the Owls rallying at the end, but they couldn't quite close the gap. Both teams recorded 11 kills in the set, but the Musketeers committed only two errors compared to six by Temple.
The Owls will play their final match of the season on Sunday, Nov. 14 at home against Fordham. Prior to the 1:00 p.m. contest, Temple will honor its five seniors- Jess Antosz, Cayleigh Ashman, Ashley Carr, Ariel Pierre and Jovana Radojevic.
