Calafiore and Witmer Named NSCAA Men's Division I All-Region

PHILADELPHIA - Temple men's soccer standouts sophomore Cody Calafiore and junior Tyler Witmer have been named to the 2010 NSCAA Men's Division I All-Mid-Atlantic Region team.  Calafiore, a transfer in his first year with the Owls, was named to the first team as a midfielder, while Witmer earned third team honors as a forward.

Calafiore, a native of Howell, N.J., (Howell), was the spark the Owls needed this season, tallying a career-high five goals and four assists.  He and Witmer tied for the team lead in both categories.  Calafiore's signature game came at Atlantic 10 foe Dayton, when he netted a pair of goals in Temple's 2-1 win.

Witmer led the Owls in goals for the third consecutive season, earning his second career nod to the All-Mid-Atlantic Region team.  The Wernersville, Pa., native (Conrad Weiser) came on strong at the end of conference play, racking up four points in Temple's undefeated final weekend which propelled them to a berth in the A-10 Tournament.
