Kristy Bannon Named Coordinator at Temple

PHILADELPHIA – Kristy Bannon has been named the Compliance & Student Services Coordinator for Temple University Athletics.

The Hanover Township, Pa., native will work primarily with recruiting, the National Letter of Intent Program, and the distribution of athletics aid.

Bannon has served as the Compliance & Student Services graduate extern for the last year-and-a-half. The Golden Key National Honor Society member is expected to receive her master's degree in sports administration from Temple in May.

“Kristy has done an excellent job in our office,” said Sherryta Freeman, Associate Athletic Director for Compliance & Student Services. “After gaining a wealth of experience over the last year-and-a-half, we are excited that she will now be in a permanent role.”

Bannon is a 2008 graduate of Rosemont College with a bachelor's degree in history. An accomplished student-athlete, she served as the tennis team captain for three seasons. She earned second-team All-Conference honors as a senior and was a four-time Academic All-Conference honoree.

Bannon earned the Ann S. Donaldson award for Excellence in Academics & Athletics in 2007 and 2008, as well as the Cathy Mulvaney Sportsmanship and Character Award in 2008. A member of the Student Government Association, Bannon was elected the Class of 2008 president. She also served as president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee as a senior.
