– Temple men's gymnastics senior's Scott Bloomfield
and Patrick McLaughlin
each scored points in the individual preliminary competition Thursday at the Winter Cup Challenge, but did not qualify for the finals.
Bloomfield earned a total of seven points, placing very high on high bar with a score of 13.850, tying for 14th.
McLaughlin competed all-around, placing 33rd with a total score of 79.750. He earned six points, placing best on floor in 17th, earning a score of 14.350.
Two freshmen competed all-around for the Owls in Alex Tighe
and Allan Malone
. Tighe scored 73.050, posting his best performance on floor. Malone tallied 72.900 all-around, performing best on vault (14.200).
Senior Tyler Croteau
competed in three events, faring well on floor (13.850) and parallel bars (13.000).
Sophomore Evan Burke
competed on vault, earning a score of 14.200.
The tenth-ranked Owls return home to compete in a duel meet with Springfield on February 13. Action is slated for 7:30 p.m. in McGonigle Hall.
