WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – In their final meet of the regular season, the Temple men's gymnastics team edged out William & Mary 336.200-334.750, Sunday afternoon in Williamsburg, Va. Junior Blake Collins led Temple all-around, placing second in the meet with a score of 82.750.
Collins excelled on rings, scoring a meet-best 14.250.
On floor, freshman Allan Malone led all competitors with a score of 14.700 to place third all-around with a total of 80.750. Senior Jesse Kitzen-Abelson also took a first place finish, posting a meet-high 14.350 on pommel horse.
The Owls also owned the top vault score of the day, coming from sophomore Evan Burke's 15.400.
The parallel bars posed problems for the Owls. Led by scores of 13.50 from both Collins and senior Scott Bloomfield, Temple was outdone for the top three spots.
The team turned it around on high bar, scoring a one-two finish from freshman Alex Tighe (14.600) and Bloomfield (14.150).
The Owls will travel back down to William & Mary next weekend in hopes of claiming another coveted ECAC Championship. The meet is slated for April 2 at 6:00 p.m., with another day of competition on April 3 starting at 2:00 p.m.
