Collins leads TU placing second all-around

STATE COLLEGE, Pa.
– The no. 11 Temple men's gymnastics team posted a team score of 330.900, falling in a tri-meet with no. 6 Penn State and no. 7 Minnesota. Junior Blake Collins led the Owls all-around, placing second overall with a score of 83.30.

The Nittany Lions came out on fire, posting a team score of 350.150, while the Golden Gophers scored 348.250.

Senior Jesse Kitzen-Abelson had a fine night on pommel horse, scoring 13.700 to lead Temple and place fifth in the meet. Collins placed ninth in the same event with a score of 13.100, and made a tenth place showing on parallel bars, with a score of 13.900.

Collins led the Owls on floor as well, an event in which the team stuggled. The junior placed 11th with a total of 14. 300, while senior Tyler Croteau placed 12th with a score of 14.200.

On rings, sophomore Chris Mooney made a tenth place finish, scoring 14.050. Senior Scott Bloomfield also made a tenth place finish on vault, scoring 15.450.

Freshman Allan Malone continues to thrive on high bar, leading Temple with a fifth place finish and a score of 13.900.

Up next, the Owls square off with Navy on March 13. Action is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
