WILLIAMSBURG, Va.
– Led by top scores from seniors Jesse Kitzen-Abelson and Scott Bloomfield, the Temple men's gymnastics team took a second place finish with a score of 339.350 at the ECAC Championships in Williamsburg, Va. 

Illinois-Chicago took the title, scoring a meet-high 343.450.  The Owls scored 339.350 was followed by William & Mary's 337.650, Springfield's 336.050, Navy's 327.850, and Army's 323.750.

Kitzen-Abelson tallied a meet-high score of 14.400 on pommel horse.

Bloomfield led all competitors on vault, scoring 15.700. The senior was followed by teammates Jeff Zach (5th, 15.250) and Chris Bizub (T-6th, 15.200) in the event.

Junior Blake Collins competed all-around for Temple, scoring 84.650 to place fifth and earning All-East honors. Collins tied for second in this evening's action with a score of 14.400.

On floor, freshman Allan Malone was the Owls' top finisher, tying for third with a score of 14.800. Bloomfield also fared well in the event, finishing seventh with a score of 14.550.

Malone also led Temple on high bar, scoring 14.300 for eighth place.

Sophomore Taylor Brana headed up the efforts on parallel bars, posting a team-best 14.100 which ranked fourth in the meet.

The top eight finishers in each event will compete for individual titles on Saturday. Action is slated to begin at 2:00 p.m. at William & Mary's Kaplan Arena.
