Women’s Track & Field Competes At Penn Relays, Lions Invitational

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple women's 4x800m and 4x400m relay teams both competed at the Penn Relays, while sophomores Brittany Weston and Rachel Furman represented the Owls at the Lions Invitational on Saturday.

The women's 4x800m team – Assata Cowart, Tashima Stephens, Shadaya Bennett, Victoria Gocht – competed against some of the nations best in the College Women's Championship of America, running a time of 8:57.39 for an 11th place finish.

The women's 4x400m – Christiana Taylor, Paris Williams, Stephens, Tessa West – raced in the ECAC Final placing fifth in a time of 3:44.48.

At the Lions Invitational, Weston took fifth in the hammer throw with a toss of 42.62m. Furman represented the Owls in the javelin, throwing 36.02m for seventh place.

Temple is back in action next when they compete for a conference title, traveling to the University of Massachusetts on May 1-2 for the Atlantic 10 Championships.
