Award first of Fagan's career
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Senior Danielle Fagan (Lester, Pa./Interboro) has earned Atlantic 10 Player of the Week honors for the week ending April 4, 2010. The award is the first of Fagan's career, and the first Temple softball POW since April of 2007.
Fagan batted an incredible .800 in a 2-0 week for the Owls. The third baseman went 2-for-3 in the first game against St. Bonaventure, hitting a solo homerun and scoring twice in TU's 8-0 win.
The captain was even more impressive in an 8-3 Temple victory over the Bonnies the following day. Fagan recorded a 2-for-2 day at the plate with two homeruns and four runs batted in, in addition to crossing the plate three times herself.
Fagan improved her season batting average to a team-best .313 with team high's in hits (26), RBI (21), doubles (6) and home runs (4).
The Cherry and White are 10-17 on the season and 2-2 in A-10 play. The Owls are back in action on Wednesday, February 7, when they host cross-city rival Penn for a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 3:00 p.m.
