Bradbury nets team-leading second goal of the year

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Freshman Ryan Bradbury continues to have a stellar collegiate debut, netting his team-leading second goal of the season in the Temple men's soccer team's 2-1 loss to Siena. The Owls (1-4-2) went down 2-0 in the first half on a pair of bad breaks, nearly summoning a comeback in the second half of Saturday afternoon's contest.
The scoring started off with a free pass to the Saints (3-4-0), as a ball hit off of a Temple defender and found the back of the net in the 26th minute.
Siena built its lead on a penalty kick in the 44th minute, as Steve Covino succesfully converted the try.
The Owls' attack was sluggish in the first, being outshot 12-4. The second half would be a different story, as Temple locked down the defense and began to steadily pressure the home team.
Sophomore Cody Calafiore sparked the Owls' lone goal of the day, taking a free kick that was redirected into the net by Bradbury. It would be the team's only tally of the afternoon, however.
Redshirt-senior keeper Bret Mollon (1-4-2) endured another frustrating day in net, making three saves. Saints' netminder Phil Cabot (3-4-0) stopped four shots, earning the win.
Bradbury now leads the Owls in goals with two and points with five. Calafiore ranks second on the team with two assists and four points.
Up next, the Owls return home to take on Big East foe Rutgers on Wednesday, September 29. Action is slated to begin at 3:30 p.m.
