Women's Cross Country Tunes Up For 2010 With Scrimmage Against La Salle

Mims leads all with time of 19:50 over the three-mile
PHILADELPHIA - Senior Rebecca Mims turned in the top time of the day as the Temple women's cross country team took on La Salle in a non-scoring scrimmage, Wednesday evening at Valley Green. In their only scrimmage of the preseason, the Owls had seven competitors finish in the top 10.
Mims clocked in a time of 19:50 over the three-mile course, being followed closely by La Salle's Beth Walker in second place. Junior Karrie Finn placed third for the Owls (20:04), freshman Stephanie Dorantes placed fourth (20:10), and senior Brianna Linneman finished fifth (20:12).
Freshman Sarah Rutter clocked in a solid time of 21:00 to place seventh, while sophomore Dierdre MacFarlane placed eighth running 21:07. Rounding out the top 10 was sophomore Katherine Frank with a time of 21:13.
The Cherry and White open its 2010 seaosn at the 16th Annual Monmouth Invitational on September 18.
