Varsity 8 places 8th in Princeton Chase Regatta

PHILADELPHIA- The Temple Men's Crew team continued its fall season with the Princeton Chase on Sunday October 30. The Owls participated in the Varsity Heavyweight 8+, Varsity Heavy 4+, and the Frosh/Novice 8+.
The Varsity Heavyweight 8+, comprised of Don Norris (coxswain), Jimmy Barr (stroke), Aaron Heyde (seat-7), Mike Mirabella (seat-6), Brian Reehill (seat-5), Fergal Barry (seat-4), Joe Bellesheim (seat-3), Kevin Nally (seat-2) and Brandon Joyce, placed 8th with a time of 13:40.04. This was the Owls best showing at the Princeton Chase with wins over Penn, Georgetown, Dartmouth and Virginia. Princeton won the race with a time of 13:09.23.
In the Varsity Heavyweight 4+, “A”, which comprised of Matt Sbei (coxswain), Djordje Vilimanovic (stoke), Petar Ivacic (seat-3), John Boehm (seat-2) and Mike VanAssche (bow), the Owls placed 35th with a time of 16:31.55. Varsity 4+ “B” boat, comprised of Nick Palastro (coxswain), Kevin Nally (stroke), Alex Klein (seat-3), Macieji Grudzien (seat-2) and Trey Ehmer (bow), placed 37th with a time of 16:36.26. Cornell won the race with a time of 14:23.35
In the Freshmen 8+, comprised of Matt Ciarallo (coxswain), Matt Sorg (stroke), Vince Dipentino (seat-7), Connor Murphy (seat-6), Perry Cox (seat-5), Josh Kuzo (seat-4), Rob Woodruff (seat-3), Darren Mcllvaine (seat-2) and Ryan Pavelka (bow), the Owls placed 14th with a time of 14:44.84. Princeton won the race with a time of 13:39.59
The Freshmen 8+ also participated in Saturday's Head of Schuylkill Regatta. The Owls placed 5th with a time of 13:09.14. Princeton won the event with a time of 12:22.01
Men's Crew continues with its fall season at the Frostbite Regatta on November 12th at 8:00 A.M.
