Kacyon Leads Owls in 16th Place Finish at NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals

Princess Anne, Md. – Freshman Matthew Kacyon had Temple's fastest finish time in Temple's 16th place finish at Saturday's running of the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals, held on the campus of the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore.  

Temple compiled 476 points in its 16th place finish. Georgetown took first place in the 25-team meet with 47 points to beat out Villanova with 63 team points.

Kacyon took a 77th place ranking with his finish time of 32:30 in the 10K meet. His first place finish among Temple runners, marked the third time this season that he finished ahead of all his teammates.

Sophomore Will Kellar completed the run just footsteps behind Kacyon, as he placed 78th overall with a time of 32:32. Fellow sophomore Phil Fanz ended the race seconds behind (32:39) to take an 82nd place ranking.

Senior Ben Thomas wrapped up his day in 131st place with a time of 33:43, ahead of freshman Cullen Davis (34:02) in the 142nd slot to complete Temple's top five.

Senior Geoffrey Barletta crossed the finish line at 34:31 to take 150th place and close out the race for Temple.

From here, Temple will prepare for next Saturday's IC4A/ECAC Championships, which will be held at Van Courtlandt Park in the Bronx.
