Kelsey Dominik Signs National Letter of Intent to Play Softball at Temple

Updated June 6, 2012

PHILADELPHIA – Temple head softball coach Joe DiPietro has announced the signing of Kelsey Dominik to the class of 2016.  Dominik will begin her career with the Owls during the 2013 season.

Dominik comes to TU from Woolwich Township, N.J., where she is a three-sport athlete at Kingsway High School. The utility player is a two-time first team Tri-County Royal Division selection at third base, as well as a two-time member of the All-South Jersey First-Team at the same position.

As a sophomore, Dominik earned second team all state honors, while garnering third team accolades as a junior. She was tabbed the Gloucester County Times Player of the Year in her sophomore year and, as a junior, helped lead her squad to the South Jersey Group 3 championship.

“Signing Kelsey was crucial for us since she can play multiple positions,” said DiPietro. “Her ability to play third, first and pitch only makes her signing that much more important. Kelsey will flourish at Temple as a student-athlete. She will compete in the classroom, as well as on the field. I'm excited for both Kelsey and the Temple softball program as she begins her career at Temple.”

In June of 2012, Dominik was tabbed the ESPN Gatorade Softball Player of the Year for New Jersey.

In addition to softball, Dominik is also a standout in field hockey and swimming.

Academically, Dominik is a member of the National Honor Society, as well as the National Art Honor Society.
