Owls post wins on parallel bars, pommel horse and high bar

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Temple men's gymnastics team came away with a win on Friday night, as the Owls topped Springfield College, 338.200-333.500. The Owls were led by first place finishes on parallel bars, high bar and pommel horse.

On pommel horse, senior Patrick McLaughlin posted a meet-best 14.600. He tied with sophomore Alex Tighe for first place on parallel bars with scores of 14.700. On high bar, senior Blake Collins led all competitors with a meet-high score of 14.200.

On floor, junior Evan Burke led Temple with a score of 13.500 to place third. Junior Chris Mooney finished right behind McLaughlin on pommel horse with a second place score of 14.200. On vault, it was sophomore Brett Statman who led TU, scoring 15.300 to place third.

Up next, the Owls travel to Chicago for a showdown with conference rival Illinois-Chicago and Air Force on March 6 at 2:00 p.m.
