Owls top ranked team in EIGL
PHILADELPHIA - Just two weeks after falling out of the national top 12, the Temple men's gymnastics team put together an impressive performance in the Owls' home debut to break back in as the 11th-ranked team in the country. Boasting a team average of 332.333, Temple is now the top ranked team in the EIGL.
Temple owns the seventh-best team average in the East Region, and after posting a season-high 341.400 in the team's home tri-meet, is ahead of rival Illinois-Chicago (328.300) in the conference standings. Stanford is currently the top team in the nation, sporting an average of 356.550.
Senior Adam Al-Rokh has been one of the most consistent contributors for the Owls this season, currently owning the top rings average in the conference (14.167). Another senior, Scott Bloomfield, is battling with injury but still holds the top vault average in the EIGL (15.500). Fifth-year senior Patrick McLaughlin seems to be back to his usual form, leading Temple and the conference on parallel bars (14.300).
The owls have this weekend off, and return to competition hosting the William & Mary on February 19.
